Oakley Johns seventh in Comp Cams visit to Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park
Making the haul to Missouri on Friday afternoon, Oakley Johns was one of 28 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series Late Models checked in Poplar Bluff (Mo.) Motorsports Park for the first night of a doubleheader weekend.
Stopping the clock eighth-quickest in his qualifying group, Johns earned a spot in the A-Main after grabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race. With a $5,000 payday on the line, Oakley stormed forward nine positions to land inside the Top-10 in seventh.
For the second $5,000-to-win event of the weekend on Saturday, Oakley finished runner-up in his heat race which earned him a spot on the third-row for the main event. Completing 38 out of the 40-laps, Johns recorded a 16th-place finish.
